Consultation events

Reshaping standards, enabling change

We believe in the importance of collaboration and share a common goal with those we regulate—to protect the public, enable positive change and ultimately improve people’s lives. To help us succeed we are creating a number of opportunities to listen to those with an interest in social work, including a series of consultation events across England and online via Twitter Q&As.

These consultation events will focus on the rules and standards which we need to set before we can begin our work. This includes the standards we have drafted for social workers and training providers, and the rules we are putting in place for how:

• social workers register with us.

• we deal with concerns raised about social workers.

• we approve social work courses with education and training providers.

At each event, you will have the opportunity to hear from members of the Social Work England leadership team, to test our thinking and help shape the regulator we will become.

Online

We understand that it may be difficult to travel to an event and have put together a series of Twitter Q&As to allow you to ask us questions directly online.

Each Q&A will focus on a different aspect of the consultation. Head to our Twitter page and use #SocialWorkEngland to ask your question.
